Cinch Shakes
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (handful) of green chard (you can find it in the fresh produce section near the lettuce)
  • 1/4 cup frozen or 1/2 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 12 oz cold clean water
  • 2 scoops Vanilla Cinch Shake Mix
  • 5 Ice Cubes
Directions:
Blend all ingredients in a Commercial Blender until creamy. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and drink up!

What To Do If You Cant Lose Weight – Change It Up

Cant Lose WeightIt doesn’t matter what you do, you can’t seem to lose weight and keep it off. You have tried any number of diet and exercise programs, and maybe even shed a few pounds… only to gain them all back. What to do if you can’t lose weight isn’t an easy question to answer. The reason it’s so difficult is that everybody is different, and what may work for one person won’t work for another. That being said, there are some things you can do to increase your odds of success and finally be able to take off that extra weight and keep it off.

If you are currently on a diet program but can’t seem to lose weight, then you need to take a closer look at the diet itself. See, the problem most likely isn’t you at all, but rather that the diet isn’t a good match for you and your goals. This is a more widespread problem than most people realize. Analyze the diet for the total number of calories you’re taking in, what foods it allows and doesn’t allow, and if what the exercise component is like (or if there even is one). All of these things should be considered before deciding if the diet itself is the problem. It’s important to do this, as you don’t want to make the wrong assumptions about something as important as your health.

Does that mean if the diet checks out as acceptable that the problem is you? Not necessarily. As mentioned earlier, everybody is unique, and we all have different metabolic rates and our bodies utilize the nutrients in our food differently as well. While the diet you’re currently on may work wonders for the majority of people, there is always the possibility that you are one of the many exceptions.

But what to do if you can’t lose weight and you know the diet is a good one for you? It’s at this point that you need to take a look at yourself. Are you really following it to letter? A lot of diets require you to follow them precisely; otherwise they may not be nearly as effective. Do you “cheat” just “once in a while”? It’s okay to have a treat from time to time, but those treats may be the reason why you’re not losing weight on your diet.

The good news is that there is a basic solution to all of this. It may take some trial and error, but it will be worth it once you start seeing the results you want. What you need to do is find a diet that fits with who you are, instead of trying to make yourself fit in with the diet. For example, if you absolutely must have a piece of chocolate cake on occasion, then find a diet program that allows you to havChocolate Cakee chocolate cake or better yet, find a chocolate cake recipe with less calories. I recently found a recipe from “Hungry Girls” that is basically one Box of Duncan Hines Chocolate Cake Mix and one 12oz can of Club Soda. Bake as directed. Now that you know what to do if you can’t lose weight, you can finally get rid of those extra pounds and keep them off for good.

Like I said… all diets are different for each person. The diet I did best on personally was the Cinch Diet. Three Ways I Add Nutrition to My Kids’ Meals

Laura has three children, ages 8 to 17 years old. They are not only highly active, but they also have varying tastes in food and varying appetites. Because they are young, growing fast, and learning from her influence, she feels it’s especially important that she help them create healthful eating habits now. For her, it begins with creatingCinch Snack Bars nutritious meal options for them.

In general, she keeps a supply of the Shaklee Cinch Snack Bars on hand for when her children need a low-calorie, high-protein snack. Of course, each of her children favors a different flavor, so she keeps a Snack Bar Assortment Pack in their pantry at home.

Here go-to strategies for creating nutritious meals for her children:

1. Instant Soy Protein MixUse soy protein whenever possible.

She always bakes with Shaklee Instant Soy Protein. As a rule of thumb, she substitute about 1/3 soy protein for every cup of flour that a recipe calls for. For example, if a recipe calls for 1 cup of flour, she’ll change it to 2/3 cup of unbleached or wheat flour plus 1/3 cup of soy protein. And a favorite kitchen activity she can all do together with her kids is to make Shaklee protein snacks. Add a cup of Soy Protein to 1/3 cup Peanut Butter and ¼ cup of Honey. Mix the ingredients together like dough and then roll into Balls or Snakes or any shape you desire. Cover with Shredded Coconut or Chopped Nuts and refrigerate until hard. Her kids love these for dessert or as an afternoon snack! I will be trying these too, they sound delicious!! For adult healthy snacks… I would even add a couple teaspoons of Fiber Plan.

2. Sneak veggies in everywhere

Either celery with Peanut Butter or baby carrots make a great snack. Soups are another great meal to pile with veggies, such as carrots, spinach, broccoli, or celery. For example, she likes to cook carrots or celery in a stock pot and then puree in a food processor. This not only thickens the soup base, but her kids never even know the veggies are in there!

3. The more fresh fruit, the healthier.

At home, we call fruit “nature’s candy.” Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, bananas, and apples are always on hand in our kitchen. The berries are easy to grab by the handful, and we often bag a variety of berries and other cut-up fruit to take on the go. Another specialty in the Evans household is to replace sugary jams or jellies in a traditional peanut butter and jelly sandwich with fresh fruit. They put berries or even bananas in the sandwich and smush them into the peanut butter. This sounds yummy too… I never thought about putting real fruit on a P & J Sandwich before.

Probably the most important thing is getting her children involved in deciding what to eat and being creative with meals. The more they are involved, the more likely they are to make healthier food choices when she’s not around—and that makes her a happy parent!

OK… that is my Review of all the Shaklee Cinch Products. What do you think? If you’re like me… you said it all sounds great… but do the Cinch Products actually work? To keep your body running smoothly, you require no less than 2 ½ quarts of water a day – for those of you counting, that’s 10 cups of water a day. Despite all its beneficial qualities to the body, the best thing about water for the dieter is that is has no calories at all. So, drink, drink, and drink more H2O – it’s the only way to go!

In this article… we are going to focus on number 3: “What and How much You are Drinking every day”. Unfortunately most people seem to forget that the liquids we drink every day can have a HUGE impact on our overall weight loss success.

In fact some drinks are so calorie-packed that they can really mess with your body, which ultimately eliminates your chances of losing any weight at all.

What’s even more frustrating is that you might even think these drinks are actually healthy. Many drinks are sold as “HEALTHY” today with misleading labels like “all natural”, “sugar-free”, “low calorie” etc… I’m sure you’ve seen them, they are everywhere trying to trick people into thinking they are making healthier decisions.

Here is a List of Drinks You might think are Healthy, but you should try to avoid if you’re looking to Lose Weight:

  • 100% fruit juice– Surprised? While fruit juice is a better choice than drinking some fake high-fructose corn syrup juice, it still is jam packed with calories per ounce. On top of that, it has almost all of the blood sugar regulating fiber stripped out of the fruit, potentially causing your body to store more fat. Not good when trying to Lose Weight.

    It’s much better to just EAT fruit the way nature intended, with all of the fiber intact, and use a whole foods base multi-vitamin/antioxidant supplement to get enough of the super-nutrients contained in fruit juice.

  • Soy Milk - Most soy products these days are heavily processed with little nutrient density… and this includes most soy milk’s you see at the grocery store. The only soy based food I have found that is in it’s fairly natural state is edamame, though I still eat it maybe once a week, added to a healthy stir fry using walnut, macadamia nut or grapeseed oil.
  • Cappuccino – avoid those high priced gourmet coffee drinks. While black coffee can help you burn fat, these tempting coffee calorie hogs can hide several hundreds of calories in one drink, and before you know it you might down up to 1000 calories while talking with friends at the coffee shop! Yeah… that’s more insane than trying to do the Insanity Workout. : ))

    If You get the craving for one of those gourmet coffee drinks? You can make your own fat-burning version pretty easily:

    You’ll start by spooning sugar-free, nonfat vanilla yogurt in an ice cube tray and freezing it into cubes overnight. Then you’ll add them to a blender with a splash of organic fat-free milk or coconut milk, a 1 packet of Healthy Coffee Crystals, and a scoop of Cinch Vanilla Whey Protein Powder and finally sprinkle on some cinnamon to add a little fat-burning kick.

    This will taste so good that you’ll swear it isn’t good for you, but Trust Me… IT IS!

  • Zero Calorie Flavored Waters– Once again, the label fools you with “0-calorie” claims… most of these still use questionable artificial sweeteners that have been show to inhibit fat burning, increase appetite, and block the absorption of nutrients into your body in a variety of studies. This includes all Diet Sodas, Low Calorie and No-Sugar Drinks too… read the label. They most likely have an artificial sweetener in them and you may not even know it.

    There are a few “0-calorie” flavored drinks that try that use the all-natural stevia as the sweetener like, Zevia (a stevia based soft drink), and Sobe Lifewater.

  • Of course… I shouldn’t even have to put this here, but I hope you already know that all Regular Sodas, Kool-aid, Energy Drinks etc… are loaded with Sugar! Whether you’re trying to lose weight or not… you shouldn’t ever drink these. They are sooo bad for you.
  • Alcohol… mixed drinks with soda, coffee drinks, fruit drinks, regular beer etc. have a lot of calories. If you have to drink something… grab a light beer or a glass of wine and keep it to one.

Now that you know what to avoid, let’s look at some drinks that you should add to your daily diet…

WATER… WATER… WATER… 6-8 Glasses per day! This drink alone will help you lose weight, feel better and more! Make sure it’s Good Clean Water. There is nothing wrong with drinking tap water as long as you use a good water filter.
